Movement Response
Movement gives you information — learn to read the signals and know when to continue, adjust, or seek support.
Movement gives you information. As you move, your body may give signals such as ease, resistance, discomfort, compensation, restriction, pain, fatigue, or flare-up. These signals can help guide whether to continue, adjust, recover, or seek support.
Movement responses are not always linear. They may be influenced by load, fatigue, stress, sleep, sensitivity, confidence, current capacity, and recovery.
Movement Recovery Signals
Learn to recognise how movement may feel or change through ease, resistance, discomfort, compensation, restriction, pain, fatigue, or flare-up.
Movement Response Guide
The Movement Response Guide helps you notice and interpret how your body responds to movement, including changes in resistance, discomfort, effort, compensation, restriction, and control.
Flare-Ups
A flare-up is a temporary increase in symptoms, sensitivity, restriction, fatigue, or reduced function during or after activity. It does not always mean that injury or damage has occurred, but it may indicate that the current activity, dose, or recovery needs to be adjusted.
Continue, Adjust, Recover, or Seek Support
Use your movement response to help decide whether to continue, adjust the dose, recover, or seek further advice.
The Movement Response Guide supports body literacy and movement understanding. It is an educational framework, not a standalone diagnostic tool, validated medical scale, or replacement for clinical assessment.
